Lighting Performance: Under controlled 500-lux indoor studio lighting, spatial tracking locked within 1.2 seconds. Performance degraded slightly in sub-50 lux environments, with distance variances increasing up to 4.1%.
Surface Edge Detection: High contrast edges (e.g., dark wood tabletops on light flooring) demonstrated near zero drift (< 2mm). Low-contrast matte surfaces (e.g., solid white drywall) required manual feature-point priming prior to point placement.

How TestedAR Benchmarks Apps
Our empirical testing uses high-precision laser distance meters (ISO 16331-1 certified) and physical tape measures as baseline ground truths. Each virtual measurement tool undergoes standardized evaluation under controlled indoor and variable outdoor environments.
Optics & Lux Variance
Evaluated under 50 lux (low room light), 500 lux (office ambient), and 10,000+ lux (direct outdoor sunlight).
Distance Matrix
Tested across ranges from 10 cm micro-measurements to 10-meter room spans to calculate non-linear drift.
LiDAR vs Optical
Isolating time-of-flight hardware depth sensor advantages against purely monocular camera feature point estimation.
